The PathWise Process: Our Instructional Design Approach

PathWise Solutions deployed an agile, highly collaborative development framework to map evolving government requirements into an easy-to-follow, unified training structure.

Step 1: Strategic Analysis & Alignment

Our exploration process relied on intensive action mapping to isolate key training goals while the ministry’s underlying policies were actively shifting. To ground the curriculum, we mapped the modules directly to authentic WorkBC client journeys.

This user-first framework ensured the material remained deeply relevant, helping both novice and experienced teams quickly understand how administrative and software changes would alter day-to-day public interactions.

Step 2: Creative Design & Development

Our design team structured the 14 modules using a clean, text-optimized design emphasizing clarity and a positive outlook toward systemic change. We engineered interactive custom infographics to break down sophisticated structural changes into approachable visual summaries.

To train staff on the upgraded software system, we built true-to-life training environment simulations using high-fidelity system screenshots, allowing workers to practice software navigation safely without risk to live client databases.

Step 3: Interactive Implementation

Given the highly fluid parameters of a provincial transition, our implementation strategy relied on absolute adaptability and long-term sustainability.

Active Collaboration: We established a highly responsive communication network to adapt content organically as ministry requirements finalized. Crucially, because WorkBC intended to manage content updates internally post-launch, PathWise custom-designed a specialized handover program, actively training ministry personnel to confidently maintain, update, and scale the 14 modules long after deployment.

Project Outcomes

Driving successful organizational transformation, system fluency, and long-term operational autonomy within public service networks.

Successfully designed and launched a massive 7-hour learning suite that brought thousands of provincial workers and third-party contractors up to speed.
Transformed complex software system overhauls into intuitive, simulation-based interactive guides that accelerated operational readiness.
Concluded post-implementation performance evaluations alongside WorkBC teams to continuously audit training efficacy and address emergent learning needs.
Empowered the client with total operational independence by establishing internal ministry capabilities for future course updates and maintenance.
